Second-hand has been the big trend for a few years now. Baby registries have, of course, not escaped it. Online resale platforms are booming, thrift shops are more popular than ever, and even major brands and traditional retailers are jumping on the bandwagon. Whether for budget reasons, ecological reasons or ideological ones, second-hand is in vogue—and that’s a good thing!

For a few years now, we’ve noticed on Kadolog baby registries that second-hand is becoming more and more present. Baby clothes are generally worn for only a few months, or even just a few weeks, which leads parents to buy second-hand.
How does it work on your Kadolog baby registry?
You have several options to add second-hand items to your baby registry :
The first option is to buy the second-hand items yourself. It’s the option preferred by expectant parents. It allows you to choose for yourself, compare and buy little by little before your baby arrives. If you choose this option, you can also order items online (Vinted, Facebook Marketplace, …). Then you simply add photos of the items to your registry, along with the prices, and your loved ones contribute the amount of the gift. It’s, in a way, a “reimbursement” for the product you’ve already bought. Practical and clever!
The second option is to let your loved ones buy the items themselves. You can also suggest that they gift you items they already have at home. You add all the items you need for your baby, specifying that you prefer them second-hand. A word of caution though: if you send your baby registry to your loved ones after the birth—on your birth announcements, for example—you’ll need to specify which items will be needed right at/after the birth.
